Our Primary School Gr 3 students hosted a special guest Ms. Purabi Deshpande who is a Scientist from India, through Skype. She talked all about how humans and animals are living together, especially birds. It was very intriguing for our students to learn that our interactions are changing the environment because the birds are introduced to new foods (seeds) and spread the seeds which can cause new invasive plants to grow taking over native plants. She was very surprised about the green parrot found here in Istanbul and learned something from the class as well.
