Students who do not wish to undertake the full IB Diploma Programme or do not meet entrance requirements can take the IB Certificate programme, which leads to the American NEASC-recognized MEF High School Diploma.
Students can take IB courses in:
Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature – English A: Language and Literature
Group 2: Language Acquisition – French ab initio or French B; Spanish ab initio or Spanish B
Group 3: Individuals and Societies – Economics, or Global Politics
Group 4: Sciences – Environmental Systems and Societies, Biology, or Physics
Group 5: Mathematics Applications and Interpretations, or Mathematics Analysis and Approaches SL/HL
Group 6: Visual Arts, Chemistry, or History
Students will study in five out of the six subject areas. English and a mathematics course are compulsory. Students may take IBO externally assessed examinations in these subjects to be awarded an IB certificate for each course.
In addition, students who follow the IB Certificate programme may take other courses such as Physical Education, College Preparation, or Study Hall.
