Last week, our MEF IS High School Spanish Class students from grades 10, 11, and 12 had the opportunity to participate in an onsite Latin American Food Festival with Peru as the guest country in line with our MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) events. They ate authentic food from Peru: Papa a la Huancaína, Arroz con Pollo, Mazamorra Morada, and Chicha Morada. The students also learned about the origin of these foods and their ingredients. In class, we researched some Peruvian food and prepared different questions to have short conversations and interact with some native speakers. The students could also take some souvenirs from Perú with them. It was a great experience and they could experience a bit of Peruvian rich culture.
