A breakfast was recently organized for Secondary teachers, which allowed them to socialize, collaborate and eat.

As Gr. 4 parents will know we are in the process of planning our yearly trip to Space Camp Izmir. Space Camp offers our students a four-day educational programme focused on teamwork and leadership development, motivating students to pursue careers in science, maths and technology.
Next week, the Deputy Principal (Ms. Kate) will be arranging a Question & Answer session for Grade 4 parents that would like more information.

On Monday, Gr. 6A joined Gr. 3B to share their fairy tales and talk about the process of writing them. Gr. 3 are currently inquiring into traditional stories so it was really relevant and very enjoyable. |

MEF IS celebrated World Kindness Day on Wednesday. Our Primary students created a kindness chain and displayed it in our foyer. |

Primary School Counselor Ms. Pelin held a Workshop for primary teachers about meeting individual needs through differentiated teaching and learning practices. |

To stimulate their creativity for an upcoming Unit of Inquiry, Pre-S and Pre-K went on a field trip to a theatre (Fil tiyatro) and enjoyed watching the play called 'Yummy Honey'. |

The founder of Spoken Word Istanbul and the founder of Istanbul Slam Poetry presented at our assembly on Wednesday. We were treated to a Slam Poetry demonstration. |

During the lunch break on Wednesday, student volunteers participated in a Slam Poetry workshop with the founder of Istanbul Slam Poetry. |

Siobhan Elliott with Arts University Bournemouth visited with our students this past Monday at our MEF InArts Mini-Fair. |

Anett Sebestyen and Gokhan Cuhaci with Budapest Metropolitan University introduced our students to cutting edge digital arts programs at our MEF InArts Mini-Fair. |

Mazen Mahir with Middlesex University - Dubai campus, in addition to several other Arts and Design universities, visited with MEF secondary students at our MEF InArts Mini-Fair. |

MEF students were also able to enjoy a ‘behind-the-scenes’ presentation by Tyler Weiss from Langara Centre for Entertainment Arts highlighting how his team helped produce the ‘dragons’ for the ‘Game of Thrones’ television series. |

Students participated in a field trip to Yıldız Park on Friday, the 8th of November. Using investigative practise, students inquired about various aspects of the park, including the variety of animals, geographical layout and water usage in preparation of future expeditions. |

Students visited the city of Canakkale for the Troy Junior Model United Nations Conference. Here they debated and created resolutions on global topics such as women’s rights, child soldiers and climate change, with our students performing admirably as five of the student delegates achieved awards. |
 |
On Thursday, the IB1 English Language and Literature class had the privilege of welcoming Miss Rafiee and Miss Goldie into our classroom to learn more about Iran in order to enhance our understanding of the context of the graphic novel, Persepolis. |
