Amazing Birds by 1B were inspired by our investigation into animal classifications. The children chose a head and feet for their birds and then drew the bodies. Then they wrote facts about their winged creation. Some children have birds with sharp claws that can catch small creatures, while others have sharp beaks to crack open nuts.

As a school, we value the importance of healthy meals and snacks. We also recognise the challenges that we face being a diverse school. While we want our students to be ‘risk-takers’ and try new foods we also want to provide familiar foods that our students like and that are healthy. For this reason, we have set up a Food Committee. The committee will meet once a month and will consist of two secondary and two primary school student representatives, the two deputy principals, as well as the food engineers and the school premise manager. Here are the primary school representatives sharing the feedback after this week’s meeting. Please look out for further information regarding this.

Grade 2 students have been using their engineering skills this week (Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve) to construct a material monster using what they know about the properties of materials. Comparing the plan to what they created proved to be challenging but they did a great job! |
Grade 4 have been busy this week reading news articles related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of this, they have been analysing the text, asking questions and making connections. |
Last Friday, the Primary School homeroom teachers took part in professional development sessions led by our Maths committee. This was followed by Child Protection training. Child Protection is an ongoing focus for the school as we strive to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students. Please look out for more information regarding this matter in the near future. |

Secondary students participated in our 4th annual Modern Foreign Language Week this week. Promoting Francophone and Hispanophone cultures, students showed their Latin American dance moves, flipped pancakes, tested their cultural knowledge, and glimpsed at a busy Parisian cafe! Two fantastic music performances in front of the student body in the target languages by Grade 6 and 7 students highlighted the week. Congratulations to all students and staff involved. |
Grade 9B students had a community project to help children suffering from cancer. The project took place in the Secondary Canteen on February 19th.
