\n<\/b>The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an exciting and challenging two-year academic program designed for students aged 16 to 19 who are looking for a well-rounded, internationally recognized education. It prepares students for university and beyond by developing critical thinking, research, and communication skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

At MEF International School, Izmir, we have proudly offered the IBDP since 1998, consistently ranking as one of Turkey\u2019s top-performing IB World Schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Will Students Learn?<\/b><\/p>\n

IBDP students take <\/span>six subjects<\/b>, choosing one from each of the following groups:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature<\/b><\/td>\nEnglish A: Language & Literature (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Self-Taught literature (SL)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Group 2: Language Acquisition<\/b><\/td>\nEnglish B (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

French ab initio (SL)<\/span><\/p>\n

French B (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Spanish ab initio (SL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Spanish B (SL & HL)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Group 3: Individuals and Societies<\/b><\/td>\nHistory<\/span><\/p>\n

Chemistry (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

(Chemistry is a Group 4 subject that is scheduled alongside a Group 3 subject.\u00a0 If you choose Chemistry, you have to take Economics rather than Visual Arts due to IB regulations.)\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Group 4: Sciences<\/b><\/td>\nBiology (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Physics (SL & HL)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Group 5: Mathematics<\/b><\/td>\nApplications and Interpretations (SL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Analysis and Approaches (SL & HL)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Group 6: The Arts \/Specializations<\/b><\/td>\nVisual Arts (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

Economics (SL & HL)<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure both depth and breadth in their learning, students study three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL):<\/span><\/p>\n
