MEF IS Izmir is authorised to offer the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) Primary Curriculum, a curriculum for children aged 5-11, and is an excellent preparation for Secondary education, in part due to its focus on English, mathematics and science. Other subject areas are studied in a transdisciplinary manner. Cambridge International Primary Programme Progression Tests taken in Grades 2 to 5 to track a student\u2019s development through Primary School. Upon completion of Grade 5 students also sit a Primary Cambridge Checkpoint Exam, and they receive a Certificate of Achievement. Cambridge Assessment International Education prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.<\/p>\n
As well as concentrating on the core subjects, English, mathematics and science, the Primary School curriculum emphasizes the importance of all subjects and learning activities, including social studies, performing arts, visual arts, physical education, modern foreign languages, ICT, and host country studies. Other activities are also offered during the academic day to tap into the interests and abilities of students in a variety of areas, including sports, arts and crafts, team games, science and dance. Educational excursions are organized to make sure learning is extended outside the classroom.<\/p>\n
Student support services are available to assist student learning in a range of roles: learning support, English support, and counseling. The Primary School curriculum develops the whole child through focus on each student’s academic, social, emotional and physical well-being in an environment that celebrates internationalism.<\/p>\n
