We are very pleased that we were able to compile and publish our 2020 Yearbook. For leaving families these books will be available to collect, along with children’s report cards on the 18th & 19th June. For all other families, the Yearbook will be sent digitally and the hard copies will be distributed at the beginning of the new school year.

This week KA students practised their illustration skills by following an online tutorial and learning to draw the pigeon character from Mo Willems books. Students then created a new story idea for Pigeon. Well done KA, this looks great!

In preparation for our Kindergarten Graduation, the students have been busy at home and in school creating their own graduation caps. Here are some lovely examples.

Kindergarten students were also invited into school to pick up their graduation packs and to have their photo taken in front of our 2020 graduation backdrop. This backdrop will be in the lower car park area again on the 18th and 19th June for anyone wanting to take photos.

Grade 4 did their Social-Emotional Learning tasks and practised their mindfulness and resiliency skills. |

Grade 2 students have been working on Area and Perimeter this week. Here are some examples of their work. They are using Lego to show the Area and Perimeter. |

Library time is very popular. The younger siblings of students in 4A sometimes join library time too. Grade 1 students tried out delicious recipes from home after their discussion about food and nutrition. |

Grade 4 is learning all about space. Students have created their own planets, imagined being a sunbeam travelling through space, marvelled at the images provided by the Hubble space telescope, researched a space explorer, put together class timelines about space explorations and will be writing science fiction stories to bring all this learning together in one nice package |

Grade 10 students have completed their course selection for the upcoming academic year. This is an important step as they transition to the IB Diploma Program or the IB Course Certificate Program. |

Grade 10 students continue to meet with our College Counselors and Academic Dean as they discuss preparations for university admissions applications. |

During the grade 8 nonfiction unit, students focused on teen issues, opinion and expository essays, and podcasts. This 'dynamic duo' produced a podcast for the New York Times competition focusing on teen stress and methods to manage it. Between fairies, magic flowers, donkey heads, comedy, and romance, our grade 6 students had the challenging task of recreating 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' as a puppet theatre. Enjoy this impressive summary and recreation in the ATTACHED VIDEO. |

The MEF Class of 2020 have received numerous offers over the last six months. Although several students are still weighing their options in order to make the best choice for themselves and their families, this graphic shows which schools many of our graduates will attend this coming autumn! The MEF Class of 2021 have been diligent in their college preparations over the last year and will start their college apps in September. Now that test centers are reopening, many of them will be registering and preparing to tackle these big exams this summer including: IELTS, ACT and SAT. Wish them luck! |
